DOES MY BUSINESS NEED TO BE ON PINTEREST?
If you thought Pinterest was dead, cowgirl, then you thought wrong. For many businesses, Pinterest is a huge part of their marketing. It can generate leads on autopilot and even help you book with new clients.
But how do you know if Pinterest marketing is for you? And how can you incorporate Pinterest in your marketing plan? Let’s chat about it.
IS PINTEREST MARKETING RIGHT FOR YOU?
There are tons of platforms you can use for marketing, and while Pinterest can technically work for any business - it doesn’t need to be a priority in every business. AKA Pinterest marketing works better for certain brands and products.
If you fall into any of these categories, including Pinterest in your marketing plan could be beneficial -
Your business uses a lot of visuals. Think physical products or services, like stationery companies, wedding designers, and interior decorators. Pinterest is a very visual platform, and people love to use it for inspiration. If you have visually appealing photos, Pinterest is a great place for you.
Your business needs a simple portfolio of your work. If you work in a visual field, Pinterest can help you promote your services by showcasing past work. For example, you can upload photos of past website design or custom furniture projects. You can also use these pins to showcase work to potential clients before booking.
You regularly take photos. If you get photos done in your business every 4-6 weeks to capture your product or service, Pinterest marketing is a great way to repurpose those photos.
Your business has multiple branches or segments. Pinterest content is easily separated by boards, which means you can categorize your work. For instance, if you sell children’s books, you can segment them by grade level, genre, or series!

CREATING PINTEREST CONTENT
If you decide to go down the Pinterest path, there are a few things to keep in mind that will help you leverage sales and growth on Pinterest.
First, make sure you know who you’re selling and marketing to. Your content and captions should always appeal to and speak to your ideal audience.
Do your keyword research. Pinterest is a search engine, which means SEO keywords are hella important. Before writing your caption, figure out what your audience is most likely searching for and incorporate that into your caption.
Lastly, the image you use for your Pin should be on brand and representative of what you’re trying to sell. This isn’t the time for click-bait or misleading photos.
